MONTREAL, July 29, 2004 - World champion Alexandre Despatie has been focusing on Athens for
months and here he is on the eve of his departure to the Olympic Games. Today, the accomplished
diver met with media for the last time on Quebec soil, before heading to Greece, where he will
take part in his second Olympic Games.
"Athens has been a big topic of discussion and I've been thinking about it for months!
I just can't wait to get there, stated Alexandre. I experienced Sydney in 2000, and even though
Athens will be different, I have a good idea of what to expect. I have not set any specific
goals because I want to focus on my performances and not on the result. I know that if I dive
well and that I am consistent in my dives, I will be happy with the result. Today, competitions
are won by very close margins, so it's really anybody's game. "
